CLEVELAND, Ohio — Obamacare is being followed by a dose of Joe & Kamalacare. On Thursday, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris announced the government's new Medicare prescription drug price cuts, set to take effect in January. The first round of price cuts, which emerged from negotiations with the pharmaceutical industry, affect 10 major, commonly prescribed drug groups.

These are the top ten drugs: Januvia, Xarelto, Jardiance, Endrel, Stelara, Faraxiga, Eliquis, Entresto, Imruvia, Fiasp; [ Fiasp FlexTouch; FiaspPenFill; Novolog; NovologFlexPen, NovoLog PenFill]

Two years ago, likely presidential candidate Kamala Harris was the deciding vote for the passage of the “Law to Reduce Inflation” Medicare is given the authority to negotiate drug prices with the pharmaceutical industry.

In the first year of the 38 to 79 percent price cut, taxpayers are expected to save $6 billion. Those enrolled in Medicare Part D will save about $1.5 billion in out-of-pocket costs.

It also extends the Medicare $35 cap on insulin to non-Medicare users.

Since becoming the new candidate, the announcement was Biden’s first joint appearance with Harris, who he quickly said would be “a damn good president !” President Biden added:

You may have heard of the MAGA Republican Project 2025 plan. They want to take away Medicare's power to negotiate drug prices and let the drug companies charge what they want again. Let me tell you what our Project 2025 is – beat them up!”
