This attack is particularly important because it demonstrated the resistance's ability to maneuver and launch direct attacks on Israeli forces.

Video footage released on Saturday showed an attack by fighters from the Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, on Israeli occupation forces on the Netzarim axis in the Tel Al-Hawa district south of Gaza City.

This attack is particularly important because it demonstrated the resistance's ability to maneuver in a fortified and 24-hour surveillance area and to launch direct attacks on Israeli forces.

Israel wants to maintain a permanent presence in Netzarim, but Palestinian resistance in the region continues to make the Israeli mission virtually impossible.

Al-Qassam said four of its fighters managed to enter the area separating the northern Gaza Strip from its center and south, where they ambushed an Israeli force consisting of two military jeeps and detonated two bombs, killing or wounding several soldiers.

At the beginning of the video, Kassam fighters are seen entering the area of the attack. One of the fighters says he is part of “the recruitment of 2024, which will be terrifying for Israel,” before dedicating the operation to Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated by Israel in the Iranian capital Tehran late last month.

The footage then showed careful monitoring of the movements of the occupying troops as well as the preparation and placement of explosive devices.

Before the bombing, Al-Qassam fighters barricaded themselves in a location near the placement of IEDs and the passage of Israeli military vehicles.

After the withdrawal, a Kassam member vowed, “We will repeat the attacks,” and sent a message to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the “next (attack) will be bigger.”

Al-Qassam ended the video with a scene in which one of the killed Israeli soldiers was presumably taken out of the area.

This is the second operation of this kind by the Qassam Brigades, after its fighters raided the headquarters of the Israeli occupation forces near the Tel Zurub area, southeast of the Tel Al-Sultan neighborhood in the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah. The video of the operation was released on July 10.

Below is the text provided by Al-Qassam that accompanied the video shared on the movement's Telegram channel.
