September 21, Edo Freedom Day, says Akpata

Labour Party candidate in the Edo gubernatorial election, Olumide Akpata, has declared that September 21, 2024 will be a day of freedom for the people of Edo.

In a statement released on Sunday by Edo LP spokesman Sam Uroupa, Olumide said the people were finally breaking free from the shackles of the All Progressives Congress and the leadership failure of the Peoples Democratic Party.

The statement read: “I declare September 21st as Freedom Day for the people of Edo State. This historic declaration marks a turning point in the development of Edo State as the people will finally break free from the shackles of the failed leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress.”

“During the 28 years of rule by the PDP and APC, they have failed to provide basic necessities such as quality education, world-class infrastructure, accessible healthcare, food security and effective security.

“Despite receiving a whopping monthly allocation of N16 billion naira, they accumulated debts amounting to a whopping N600 billion naira. These parties have nothing to show for it.

Akpata also promised to create an environment that will enable the people of Edo to succeed in both urban and rural communities.

He added: “I will ensure quality education that prepares our children for the future, world-class infrastructure that promotes economic growth, accessible healthcare that takes care of the welfare of all, food security that ensures that no Edo citizen goes hungry.
and effective security that guarantees safety and peace.

“The election is a way to take back our state from failed leaders. I call on all people of Edo to join this revolution and vote for the Labour Party on September 21. Together we can build a better Edo State for all.”
