Two-vehicle accident in Pierce County

PIERCE COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) – The Pierce County Sheriff's Office released a statement regarding an accident that occurred on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at approximately 8:42 p.m.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Office was notified of a two-vehicle accident with injuries on State Highway 29 near County Road I in Gilman Township.

Aaron Place, a 36-year-old from Spring Valley, was driving a 2003 GMC Sierra pickup truck. While traveling eastbound on State Highway 29, he collided with a 2005 Toyota Tundra traveling westbound on State Highway 29. The driver was Nancy Sukowatey, 66, of Ellsworth, Wisconsin. The 2005 Toyota Tundra had a passenger identified as Gary Sukowatey, 73, of Ellsworth, Wisconsin.

Nancy Sukowatey and Gary Sukowatey were transported to River Falls Area Hospital by Baldwin and Spring Valley Ambulance Service with non-life threatening injuries. Mr. Place was not injured in the accident.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Spring Valley Fire Department, Spring Valley EMS and Baldwin EMS.
