Two minors are injured in a car accident, one is flown out

CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, Arkansas (KAIT) – Two minors were injured in a car crash Sunday.

According to Captain Jason Allen of the Craighead County Sheriff's Office, the accident occurred around 6:47 p.m. on Craighead 372 Road, one mile from Hasbrook Road.

He said a light blue GMC Acadia was driven by a 17-year-old with a 16-year-old passenger traveling east on Craighead 372 Road.

Allen said the 17-year-old lost control of his vehicle while going over a hill. The vehicle left the roadway and went into a ditch, rolling over on its side.

Allen said when emergency responders arrived, the 17-year-old had exited the vehicle and the 16-year-old was trapped.

The 17-year-old was taken to St. Bernards Medical Center and the 16-year-old was flown by helicopter to Regional One Health in Memphis.
