3 people in hospital after shooting in Spring Hill apartment complex

SPRING HILL, Fla. – Three people are in the hospital after they were shot from a vehicle in the parking lot of a Spring Hill apartment complex Sunday night.

The shooting occurred around 7:40 p.m. at the Mariner's Cay Apartments.

Shortly before the shooting, a vehicle carrying five people was in the parking lot of a Publix restaurant about a half-mile from the apartment complex.

After the shooting, the vehicle with the three injured people drove back to the Publix parking lot.

One of the victims ran to Publix for help, which led to multiple reports of an active shooter.

The Publix was then evacuated by the authorities.

All of the injured suffered gunshot wounds, but their condition is currently unknown. It is also unclear what led to the shooting.

The suspect was taken into custody.

This is a developing story. Check back later for updates.
