Head coach Kyle Shanahan had no injuries to report during the game after the San Francisco 49ers defeated the New Orleans Saints 16-10 in preseason action at Levi's Stadium. That's certainly good news, but we'll likely have to wait until tomorrow to see if any issues arise.

Shanahan gave updates on some players who missed the game due to injuries. Running back Jordan Mason was suspended due to “hip pain.” Linebacker Dee Winters had to miss training due to a knee bruise and wide receiver Juan Jennings missed the game because of a weird problem.

None of these injuries are considered serious, so it appears that the 49ers emerged from the game relatively healthy. The newly signed defensive lineman Nick Williams went down in the first quarter and was listed as questionable with a knee injury. However, Shanahan's omission of Williams in his postgame comments is likely a positive sign.

Shanahan also gave an update on the wide receiver Ricky Pearsalland noted that the 49ers staff will monitor how the rookie's shoulder responds this week.

“He's running routes, feeling good and stuff, but we don't want to put him in a situation where he's getting hit and stuff like that and uncomfortable situations until we know he passes all the tests and can do everything,” Shanahan explained. “So he's living day to day right now.”

Shanahan also mentioned that the 49ers are expecting a rookie running back Isaac Guerendo to return this week. He was battling a thigh injury.

“Hopefully practice goes well and we can see him in the game and hopefully Ricky can make it there,” Shanahan said.
