Lululemon and Sephora shoplifter Emelly Yanagida, accused in California, hides in the trunk of her Tesla

A California woman is accused of stealing products from Sephora and Lululemon last week – and then jumped into the trunk of her Tesla to hide from police, according to surreal bodycam footage.

Suspected thief Emely Yanagida said she scurried into the back seat of the luxury car on Wednesday because she was “scared” after Irving police officers broke into the vehicle and handcuffed her, according to a video released by police.

Yanagida, 35, stole about $600 worth of Sephora products and then left the beauty store around 3 p.m. despite anti-theft security attempts to stop her, authorities said.

When police arrived at the scene, a citizen told them that the suspect got into a white Tesla and then crawled into the trunk.
