CHICAGO (CBS) — Chicago police are asking for help in identifying a man suspected of killing another man in the Austin neighborhood on Saturday afternoon.

According to police, a man in his 30s was in the 0-100 block of South Laverne around 2:30 p.m. when he got into an argument with an unknown person who shot him multiple times.

The shooter fled the scene.

The victim, who was shot in the neck and back, was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition and later died.

The shooter is described as a black man of medium build, with short black hair and a beard.
