Troops kill Boko Haram commander and others in Borno

The operation was said to have taken place in Bula Daloye, Bama Local Government Area of ​​Borno.

It was said that the successful operation was accompanied by the surrender of numerous terrorists and their families to the troops, which was the result of the continued pressure on their enclaves.

The army said troops had also arrested several suspects and seized weapons and ammunition.

“After a fierce exchange of fire, the troops overpowered the terrorists and neutralised three of them, including the wanted Boko Haram commander Abu Rijab.

“During the operation, two AK-47 rifles and mobile phones were seized.

“In addition, eight terrorists and their families surrendered to the troops in Gwoza local government area.

“The same troops also arrested two suspects in Konduga local government area with 52 bags of illegal drugs intended for sale to terrorists,” it said.

The post also revealed that troops operating in Taraba had arrested the Chairman of the Gassol Local Government Area Hunters Association, Alhaji Adamu Tanko, for selling an AK-47 rifle to a suspected terrorist.

Investigations revealed that the weapon was discovered during a joint operation against terrorists in Boki Lamba, a border town with Plateau.

In Plateau, the service said its troops had arrested two suspected criminals in the Rikkos area of ​​Jos North Local Government Area.

According to the post, troops seized a fake rifle and mobile phones that showed pictures of weapons and ammunition of various calibers.

“The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, praised the troops for their resilience and commitment.
