Violent visitor at Rivers Casino

An intoxicated man was arrested at Pittsburgh's Rivers Casino on Friday after allegedly attacking both a police officer and another person during a fight, Pennsylvania authorities said.

Christopher Okeefe, 39, of Moon Township, Pennsylvania, was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, fleeing from arrest or detention on foot, resisting arrest, two counts of disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

The incident began around 9 p.m. when Okeefe got into a fight in the casino's gaming area. He allegedly hit someone with his belt during the fracas, according to Pennsylvania television station WPXI.

Pennsylvania State Police officers assigned to the casino then attempted to arrest him.

Fled to the garage

However, he was able to escape into the casino's parking garage. Police officers searched for him and discovered the suspect. They approached him. But he managed to escape again. A short time later, he was finally arrested.

He was taken to a state police vehicle. On the way to the Allegheny County Jail, he allegedly attacked a police officer. It is unknown if the officer was injured. Okeefe was subdued.

At some point during the violence, Okeefe also made threats that were overheard by state police officers.

After arriving at the prison, Okeefe was arrested on numerous charges.

His case has been referred to the local prosecutor's office. If convicted on all counts, he could face prison time.

Police did not provide any information about what led to the first fight or whether charges had been filed against other people involved in the fight.
