Lone Star College official charged with murder in connection with the July 2023 death of his infant son

A Lone Star College-Tomball officer faces serious charges for allegedly causing the death of his infant son.

A Harris County affidavit states that Emmitt Eugene Carter, assistant dean for student success at Lone Star College-Tomball, is accused in the death of his six-month-old son on July 8, 2023.

The affidavit states that Carter hit and shook his son, resulting in the child's death and the murder charge.

Carter has worked in education for over 18 years and has been at Lone Star College for 10 years. He currently oversees various student support and mentoring programs at the college. He is being held on $600,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court today.
