Man charged with serious threats in Paragould

PARAGOULD, Arkansas – A man was arrested for terroristic threats after allegedly threatening to shoot someone in the head, according to an affidavit filed by the Paragould Police Department (PPD). However, the man told police he did not make the threats.

On August 15, police were dispatched to a Paragould store for a report of threats being made. They made contact with the alleged victim and learned that the defendant had threatened her over the phone, saying he would put a bullet in his head. Officers were also informed that the defendant later showed up at the store and, after looking around his vehicle, allegedly said, “You're lucky I couldn't find my gun, or I would have put a bullet in your head.”

The suspect's wife was also at the scene and confirmed the story. She said that the suspect not only threatened the victim, but also threatened her family several times recently when they were going through a divorce.

Patrick Sheedy, 41, of Paragould was arrested. He was interviewed by police and the affidavit states that after waiving his Miranda rights, he stated that he did not make any of the threats he was accused of.

Sheedy is charged with first-degree terroristic threatening, a class D felony.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
