While Taylor Swift is busy finishing the European part of her Epoch tour at Wembley Stadium in London, Donald Trump is spreading claims on Truth Social that are anything but true. On Sunday, August 18, the former president falsely posted that the 34-year-old musician had supported him in the 2024 election.

The misleading post featured three snapshots of young women wearing T-shirts that read “Swifties for Trump.” (You can see it here.) diversity believes the images were “manipulated,” and the satirical headline says her fans “want a strong leader in the White House” after the foiled terrorist attack in Vienna. Although there is already a vocal “Swifties for Harris” movement, the “Shake It Off” singer has not endorsed a candidate so far this year.

The fourth photo in Donald Trump's post is the most problematic and could land him in legal trouble with Swift. He added an AI-generated image of Swift as Uncle Sam and the message “Taylor wants you to vote for Donald Trump.” He captioned the post, “I accept!” Donald Trump shouldn't hold his breath for a real endorsement from Swift anytime soon, as she backed President Joe Biden with all her might in 2020.

The former president, however, has had a strange obsession with Swift for some time. In Ramin Setoodeh's book “Apprentice in Wonderland”: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett led America through the looking glasshe praised her looks and downplayed her political views. “I think she's beautiful – very beautiful! I think she's very beautiful. I think she's liberal. She probably doesn't like Trump. I've heard she's very talented,” he told Setoodeh. “I actually think she's very beautiful – unusually beautiful!”

It wouldn't be surprising if Swift's legal team issued a cease and desist order to Trump for using her image without her permission — and with a message she most definitely does not approve of. If Swift's lawyers aren't on the case, don't worry, Swifties are handling it. “Swifties – let's get Taylor's attention on this. It's disgusting. We know Taylor does not support Trump or the use of AI to spread misinformation using her image,” one superfan wrote on X. “She needs to get her legal team to respond ASAP.”

Swift has an army of fans who have her back!
