Xbox is ending one of its best open-world games in December

When Forza Motorsport Launched in 2005 for the original Xbox, it followed in the footsteps of Project Gotham Racing and was seen as Microsoft's competitor to Sony's Gran Turismo series.

I think it's fair to say that Forza Motorsport has evolved over the years into a worthy competitor to Gran Turismo. It offers a mix of simulation and arcade racing for those who like to tweak the settings to suit their gaming needs. The series also has an open-world spin-off that is arguably the best in its genre, Forza Horizon.

Check out the Forza Horizon 4 trailer below!

The last entry in the spin-off series was in 2021 with Forza Horizon 5 which received an impressive score of 92 and was awarded the “Must-Play” award on Metacritic. To be honest, if you were able to play the OG ForzaHorizon from 2012 on the Xbox 360, you will still have a lot of fun because this series has always been so good.

One of the best entries in the series was in 2018 with ForzaHorizon4 which took us to some of the most stunning locations in the UK including the Lake District, Edinburgh, Cotswolds, the Welsh valleys and more. It was also a very important game for the series as it was the first to implement dynamic seasons that changed spontaneously during gameplay.

Unfortunately, Xbox players were warned in June this year that ForzaHorizon4 is being deprecated by Microsoft, which means it will no longer be available on the Xbox Marketplace. This in turn means it will be removed from the Xbox Game Pass library.

ForzaHorizon4which will also be removed from the Steam store on December 15, 2024, is currently available in the Xbox End of Summer Sale, so this serves as a PSA to grab this awesome racing game at a decent discount.

ForzaHorizon4 is available in three digital packages and the prices are as follows:

Of all the editions available, I would recommend the Ultimate Edition for £6 as it includes all released DLC. Also ForzaHorizon4 has also been optimized for the Xbox Series X/S, meaning that not only does it look particularly good on Microsoft's latest console, but it also has a super-smooth frame rate.

It is also worth noting that if you buy the digital version of ForzaHorizon4Even after it is delisted by Microsoft, it will still be available to download and play through your games library.

ForzaHorizon4 is currently available for PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.
