Spanish community mourns tragic knife attack on 11-year-old boy

On Sunday morning, a tragic incident occurred at the Angel Tardio sports center in Mocejón, Spain, near Toledo, in which 11-year-old Mateo was stabbed to death during a soccer game with friends.

The shocking attack occurred around 10:00 a.m. while children were playing, and sparked horror and grief throughout the community.

The Spanish President of the province of Castile-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, shared his opinion, calling for swift justice and describing the situation as unacceptable.

Local authorities reported that the suspect fled the scene, making the search even more urgent.

Local residents noticed that the field was closed, but children, including Mateo, had entered through a broken fence.

Emotional condolences came from the community, and residents gathered in front of the town hall for a minute's silence to pay their last respects to the little boy.

The boy reportedly suffered multiple stab wounds – ten to be exact – highlighting the brutality of the attack; details were confirmed by government sources.

The tragic event not only required police intervention, but also deeply shocked the local community, who came together to support Mateo's family.

Many assured that they would respect the family's grief and grant them privacy during this painful time.

Mateo was described by relatives as a “super-good boy” who enjoyed playing with friends, underscoring the loss felt by those who knew him.
