Loma Linda man suspected of murdering Colton resident – ​​San Bernardino Sun

Police arrested a 30-year-old Loma Linda man last week for the killing of a man in Colton.

Anthony Bedford was arrested on Saturday, Aug. 17, for murder after 59-year-old John Vasquez died the day before, according to a Colton police news release.

Officers first responded to the homicide at approximately 2:54 a.m. on Friday, August 16, in the 500 block of West Oak Street, where Vasquez, of Colton, was found unconscious on the ground.

Police and firefighters attempted to save the life, but Vasquez was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Bedford was arrested on suspicion of murder in the 100 block of North Yale Street in Hemet. He was being held without bail pending the filing of the case by the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office.

In a news release, Colton police did not disclose the motive, if known, nor the nature of Vasquez's injuries or whether a weapon was used in the crime.
