PSNI releases eight more photos of people it wants to speak to over recent unrest – The Irish News

Following the unrest and riots in Belfast earlier this month, the PSNI has asked the public for help in identifying eight more people.

A police spokesman said when releasing the images that they were people “we would like to speak to” in connection with ongoing investigations into a series of incidents since August 3.

“Anyone who is able to identify any of these people or can provide information about them such as name, address or age is asked to contact detectives at Musgrave Police Station on 101,” they said.

“Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

During a visit to Belfast on Monday afternoon, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer personally thanked the police officers injured in the recent riots for their services.

At least 20 police officers were injured in a series of violent incidents in Northern Ireland in early August following anti-immigration protests.

Sir Keir Starmer also met with representatives of ethnic minorities who had been victims of the violence. Several shops were destroyed and a mosque was attacked.

Police Chief Jon Boutcher said there had been some “near misses and some very serious injuries.”
