The actor posted a message on Instagram in which he criticized trolls for trying to hurt him and the feelings of those close to him with their humor.

Shreyas denies the rumors

Sharing his disappointment over the rumours, Shreyas wrote, “Dear All, I want to assure everyone that I am ALIVE, HAPPY and HEALTHY. I have come to my attention to a viral post claiming my death.”

“While I understand that humor has its place, when misused it can cause real harm. What may have started as someone's joke is now causing unnecessary worry and playing on the feelings of those who care about me, especially my family,” he added.

Call out the trolls

The actor, who will next be seen in Kangana Ranaut's 'Emergency', was photographed at the trailer launch event in Mumbai.

He said the fake news had left his daughter worried. Shreyas, who suffered a heart attack in 2023, said: “My little daughter, who goes to school every day, is already worried about my well-being, constantly asking questions and seeking reassurance. These fake news only increase her fears and force her to face more questions from her classmates and teachers. This brings up emotions that we as a family are trying to deal with.”

“I ask those who share this content to please pause and consider the impact. Many people have sincerely prayed for my well-being and it is disheartening to see humor used in a way that can hurt feelings, cause suffering to my loved ones and disrupt our lives. Spreading such rumors not only affects the person involved but also their family, especially young children who may not fully understand the situation but still feel the emotional toll,” he added.

The actor ended the post with a warning and thanked his loved ones who checked on him after reading the fake post.

“To the trolls, I have a simple request: please stop. Don't make jokes at the expense of others or do that to anyone. I don't want that to ever happen to you, so please be sensitive. The pursuit of engagement and likes should never come at the expense of others' feelings,” he concluded.

On the work front

At the moment, Shreyas is looking forward to the release of his next film, Emergency. In it, Shreyas plays the role of former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The film will be released on September 6.
