Three teens charged in apartment complex shooting that left 16-year-old dead: HSCO

Three teenagers are accused of a shooting at a Spring Hill apartment complex that left a 16-year-old boy dead and two other teenagers injured.

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) reported that a group of five teenagers drove into the Mariner's Cay Apartments in Spring Hill on Sunday and came under fire.

The five teens retreated and drove to a Publix in Mariner Commons, where one of them entered the store and asked for help, officials said.

The report states that HCSO officers arrived at Publix around 7:40 p.m. and found that three of the teens had been struck by bullets in the shooting.

A 16-year-old boy succumbed to his injuries after being taken to a local hospital, while two others, aged 15 and 17, are expected to recover from their injuries.

On Monday, HCSO officials identified 18-year-old Tarian Rush and two other juveniles as suspects in the shooting.

The HCSO investigation revealed that the shooting stemmed from an ongoing argument between the teenagers, who had recently been involved in a physical altercation.
