Police respond to scooter accident near Miami Norland Senior High School

MIAMI GARDENS, Florida. – Police are investigating an early morning scooter crash near Miami Norland Senior High School.

The accident occurred Tuesday morning near the intersection of Northwest Seventh Avenue and Northwest 194th Avenue in Miami Gardens.

Traffic cameras captured the moment a person was flown by helicopter to a local hospital after an accident. The scooter was demolished and lying on the side of the sidewalk where the accident occurred.

Police have yet to confirm the cause of the accident and the number of victims.

Authorities advised that if you plan to drop your children off at Miami Norland High School this morning, avoid Northwest Seventh Avenue. Instead, use Northwest 12th Avenue and the front entrance of the school, as the accident occurred near the back entrance.
