No refunds

When employees informed Kim that the store did not offer refunds on candy, he allegedly escalated the situation by pulling out a firearm and threatening to shoot them if they did not give him his money back. “He said, 'I'm going to put a bullet in your head if you don't give me my money back right now,'” said employee Edilson Mejia, who was present during the incident.

The altercation occurred in front of other customers, including children, and created a frightening scene in what was supposed to be a family-friendly environment.

The police are looking at the tapes

Police reviewed surveillance footage that confirmed employees' recollections of the incident. Later that night, officers arrested Kim and 35-year-old Chelsie Lowe at a nearby resort on Ocean Boulevard. While searching their vehicle, officers discovered small amounts of cocaine and marijuana, leading to additional drug charges against both individuals.

In addition to the drug charges, Kim is charged with multiple counts of pointing and displaying a firearm at a person and unlawful conduct toward a child. The truck they were driving was connected to another “related incident” earlier in the day involving three children, although the details of that incident are still unclear.
