Chamberlain, aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital but did not survive due to serious injuries. Cambridgeshire Police are appealing for witness statements and information about the incident.

Connection to Mike Lynch's legal problems

Chamberlain was recently acquitted in a US fraud trial along with Mike Lynch, Autonomy's former CEO. Both were charged with fraud and conspiracy in connection with inflating Autonomy's value before its sale to Hewlett-Packard (HP) in 2011. The jury in San Francisco acquitted them of all 15 counts in June.

Mike Lynch missing after his yacht sank

Mike Lynch, 59, is currently missing after his luxury yacht Bayesian sank off the coast of Sicily on Monday. The yacht was hit by a violent storm and capsized. Lynch's 18-year-old daughter Hannah is among the six missing, while his wife Angela Bacares was among the 15 rescued.

The Bayesian, a 56-metre superyacht, sank at around 4:30 a.m. local time. The search for Lynch and the others is ongoing.

Chamberlain's career and legacy

Stephen Chamberlain was Vice President of Finance at Autonomy until 2012, when he moved to Darktrace as COO. According to his LinkedIn profile, he has also been a volunteer and worked as Finance Director for Cambridge United.

The sale of Autonomy to HP was the largest acquisition of a FTSE 100 company in the technology sector at the time, but HP later wrote down the company's value by £5.5 billion, claiming its revenue streams were too high.

Chamberlain's untimely death and Lynch's disappearance have shocked the tech and business worlds. Investigations into the tragic events are ongoing.
