Men’s soccer ranks first in MAC Freedom preseason poll

NEWTOWN, Pa. (August 20, 2024) – The MAC Freedom released its second coaches poll for the fall season on Tuesday. The Stevens Institute of Technology men's soccer team finished first in the preseason poll, according to the league office. The poll was conducted among the conference's eight head coaches.

Stevens scored 48 total points and received six first-place votes from the other coaches, securing the top spot for the third year in a row. Lebanon Valley, which won the regular-season title last season, finished sixth with 46 total votes and two first-place votes. Misericordia (36) and DeSales (31) and FDU-Florham (22) rounded out the top five.

The Ducks again captured the MAC Freedom crown last season and secured a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Stevens then made it out of the first round after defeating WPI in a shootout, but then lost a game to Amherst in the next round. Stevens finished the 2023 season with a record of 11-3-6.
