Woodbridge police search for fugitive suspect in domestic stabbing


WOODBRIDGE, Virginia. – Authorities are searching for a man wanted in connection with a domestic stabbing that occurred early Monday morning, August 19, 2024. The incident occurred at a residence in the 1400 block of Maryland Avenue in Woodbridge.

Officers arrived at the scene at approximately 12:53 a.m. and found two victims: a 31-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man. According to the investigation, the suspect, identified as Valentino Cruz Reyes, entered the home without permission and confronted the male victim. During the encounter, Reyes allegedly threatened the man and brandished a machete-like knife.

Reyes is accused of striking the male victim multiple times with the knife, including in the face, before physically assaulting the female victim. After the altercation, the parties separated and police were contacted.

The male victim was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, while the female victim reported minor injuries.

Authorities have obtained arrest warrants for Valentino Cruz Reyes, who remains at large. Reyes, 49, is described as a Hispanic man, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 220 pounds, with long black hair and brown eyes. He is currently of no fixed address.

Police are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of Valentino Cruz Reyes to contact the Prince William County Police Department immediately. The investigation is ongoing.

  • Police investigate shooting in Woodbridge, one person injured

    WOODBRIDGE, Virginia. — Authorities are investigating a shooting that occurred in the 12700 block of Dulcinea Place on Sunday evening, August 18, 2024. The incident, which occurred around 7:27 p.m., saw two groups exchange gunfire before they fled the scene in two vehicles.

    According to Prince William County police, the vehicles involved were a gold minivan and a silver sedan. Officers arriving at the scene discovered three unoccupied vehicles that had been struck by gunfire. Shell casings were also found on the ground.

    No individuals involved in the shooting were found at the scene, but while investigating the incident, officers were told that a 19-year-old man was being treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The man reportedly refused to cooperate with investigators regarding the incident.

    No further injuries or property damage have been reported so far.

    The investigation is ongoing and authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Prince William County Police Department.

  • 45-year-old in critical condition after shooting in Philadelphia

    PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania. — Authorities are investigating a shooting that left a 45-year-old man seriously injured in North Philadelphia on Monday afternoon. The incident occurred around 2:19 p.m. in the 2300 block of North Fairhill Street, according to police reports.

    The victim was shot once in the abdomen and once in the back. He was taken by private vehicle to Temple Hospital where he is currently in critical condition.

    The crime scene is under surveillance as investigators continue to collect evidence. No weapons have been found and no suspects have been arrested.
