Former Colts player allegedly urinated on passenger during flight – 95.3 MNC

A former Indianapolis Colts offensive lineman is suspected of urinating on another passenger during a Delta Air Lines flight on Sunday.

Cherilus, 40, was arraigned Monday in East Boston District Court on charges of disturbing the peace and interfering with the flight crew. He was released on $2,500 bail.

Police said they were called to Boston's Logan Airport around 2 a.m. Sunday after Delta Flight 154 from Boston to Dublin, Ireland, returned to the airport. They said he was “angry and uncooperative” after being asked to leave the plane, and that's why he was arrested.

The police report states that about an hour into the flight, Cherilus argued with flight crew about his seat and urinated on an elderly passenger. He also allegedly punched another passenger and took his seat before losing consciousness.

In a social media post on Monday, Cherilus apologized.

“I would like to address the media reports about me that have emerged today relating to a situation that occurred on board a flight to Ireland last weekend. The flight was unexpectedly delayed by approximately four hours and did not depart until after 00:30. In preparation for the unexpected overnight flight, I took a sleeping pill that I do not normally take, which resulted in behaviour that is out of character and I would like to apologise to the passengers and flight crew.”

Delta also stated that there was “zero tolerance for unlawful behavior” and apologized to its customers for the travel delay.

Cherilus was signed by the Colts on March 12, 2013, for five years and $35 million, but was released by the team on July 26, 2015. Cherilus also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Detroit Lions.
