Saquon Barkley injured: Eagles running back experiences horror during training

With the Eagles just days away from their final preseason game and just over two weeks away from the season opener in Brazil, now is not the best time to be dealing with injuries, especially for players like Saquon Barkley. The running back suffered an injury scare at Tuesday's practice when a trainer stretched him while he was lying on the sidelines.

Barkley remained on the sidelines, but the running back did not return to the field to participate in team drills for the remainder of practice.

The fact that he has stuck with the guys and not retreated to the locker room is a good sign and hopefully means it's just minor issues that can be worked out. Barkley is in for a big year and will play a major role in the Eagles offense, so having him available will be so important.

As if Barkley’s injury wasn’t big enough, rookie Trevor Keegan – and yet another O-Lineman – left the field early and went in with a trainer.

Right guard Mekhi Becton returned to practice on Tuesday after also dealing with an issue on Sunday. Tyler Steen is still out with a re-serious ankle injury he suffered weeks ago. Depth on offense continues to be emphasized as we slowly approach the season with several players already banged up.
