First official insights into the new Stephen King adaptation published

Warner Brothers has released a first look at the latest version of the Stephen King classic.

Warner Brothers on Tuesday put an end to the growing uncertainty and announced that it Salem's Lot finally. The film was originally scheduled for theatrical release, but late last year it was announced that it had been pushed to Max. Then, when no news was released at all, fans of the Stephen King classic became concerned, as the studio is shelving finished films so they can claim them as tax deductions.

Before there is a teaser or a full trailer, the Lewis Pullman vehicle was the subject of an extensive Vanity Fair Profile on Tuesday, where first images of the film were published.

Although the film is being shown directly as a streaming film, according to director Gary Dauberman, it conveys the feeling of a monster movie at a drive-in theater.

“It's this crazy, sugary scene. I thought, 'Yeah, that's it. That's a Drive-in cinema “movie,'” Dauberman told the magazine of a scene largely inspired by the cover of the first edition of King's novel. “Like most horror movies, I think the audience really enhances the experience. So I think my favorite way to watch this movie is to cram as many people onto the couch as possible.”

Dauberman is directing from a screenplay he wrote himself, while the film is being produced by James Wan's Atomic Monster. The film is set to star Lewis Pullman. Other Salem's Lot Confirmed cast members include Makenzie Leigh (Gotham, Billy Lynn's Mad Halftime March) as Susan Norton, Alfre Woodard (Marvel's Luke Cage) as Dr. Cody, Bill Camp (joker) as Matthew Burke, Pilou Asbæk (game of Thrones) as Richard Straker, Jordan Preston Carter (DMZ) as Mark Petrie, Spencer Treat Clark (Unbreakable) as Mike Ryerson and John Benjamin Hickey (gossip Girl) as Father Callahan, with Nicholas Crovetti (Big little lies) as Danny Glick and Cade Woodward as Ralph Glick.

Salem's Lot is due to be released by Max in October. The two-part original series can be rented wherever films are sold.
