Police search for suspect in shooting on MAX platform

CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore. (KPTV) – The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the suspect in a shooting near a MAX platform.

On Tuesday, July 30, at around 9:30 p.m., two men were waiting in the southeast corner of the JC Penney parking lot at 12300 SE 82nd Avenue, near the entrance to the Green Line MAX platform.

According to police, a thin white man with curly hair who appeared to be in his early 20s and wearing a gray hoodie, gray pants and black shoes got out of an older model black two-door Cadillac sedan that appeared to contain two stocky African-American men.

The suspect then pulled out a pistol and fired at the two men waiting near the MAX platform from about 20 meters away. No one was injured.

The shooter then ran back to the Cadillac and they sped away toward SE Sunnyside Road.

The sheriff's office said the suspect and the two men on the MAX platform did not know each other.

The sheriff's office released a forensic sketch of the suspect and a photo of the Cadillac.
