Portland graffiti vandal arrested in Klamath County marijuana raid

KLAMATH COUNTY, Oregon (KPTV) – A known Portland graffiti vandal was arrested in Klamath County during a raid on an illegal marijuana grow operation.

James Fischel, 40, was one of three people arrested by the Klamath County Sheriff's Department on August 16. Nearly 80 pounds of processed marijuana was also seized.

Portland police confirmed to Fox 12 that Fischel was identified as a known Portland graffiti vandal based on his appearance in a YouTube documentary in June.

Fischel is said to be responsible for the GIMER (Graffiti Is Me Escaping Reality) tag that can be seen all over the city.

On June 25, $10,000 worth of spray paint was seized from Fischel's Portland residence, but Fischel was out of town at the time.
