Man and his cousin die when truck hits their bike in Panki area

Kanpur: A man and his cousin died while his wife and their minor daughter sustained serious injuries when they were hit by a speeding truck in Panki district on Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred on the occasion of the Raksha Bandhan festival, when Sunny (33), who was travelling on a motorcycle and was accompanied by his wife Radhika (30), his daughter Srishti and his cousin Saloni (26), whom he wanted to drop off, was attacked by a speeding vehicle on the Panki Highway.

Panki police reached the accident spot and shifted the injured to a private hospital where doctors declared the brother and cousin (sister) brought dead. Mother and daughter were admitted to the hospital in critical condition.
Sunny, a resident of Bisayatpur in Raniya area of ​​Kanpur village police station, was travelling to Kalyanpur on a motorcycle with his wife Radhika, cousin Saloni and daughter Srishti. As they reached Johnson Mathew Company on Panki Highway, a speeding vehicle rammed their motorcycle, leading to the tragedy.
After receiving information from passersby, police rushed to the accident spot and shifted all the injured to a private hospital where doctors declared Sunny and Saloni dead on arrival. According to family members, Sunny, after tying Rakhi, wanted to drop his sister in Kalyanpur before going to his in-laws' house with his wife and daughter. Police shifted the critically injured Radhika and Srishti to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital.
Inspector Manvendra Singh of Panki police station said the driver of the vehicle responsible for the accident fled from the scene. Intensive search operations are underway to arrest the suspect and bring him to justice, he said.
