Man shot while training at gym in Reston, manhunt for suspect underway

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (7News) — According to Fairfax County police, two men were working out at a gym in Reston, Virginia, when one of them shot the other Tuesday afternoon.

Officers were called to the 11800 block of Sunrise Valley Road for a shooting. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from trauma to his upper body.

According to a preliminary investigation, officials said the two men were training when one of them approached the other in a “targeted stance” and shot him.

The man was taken to the hospital where he later lost his life while officers continued to search for the suspect.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, officials said. Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the Fairfax County Police Department's Major Crimes Bureau.
