Lyons man allegedly held woman against her will and threatened her with a knife – Finger Lakes Daily News

A Lyons man is in police custody after allegedly holding a woman against her will at a home on East Maple Avenue from Monday night into Tuesday morning.

Jamaal Moody is accused of hitting the woman multiple times and stealing her phone and keys. The 33-year-old is also accused of choking the victim multiple times and preventing her from leaving the house despite her attempts to escape. Moody is also accused of using a knife in the commission of his crimes to threaten the woman and further prevent her from leaving the house. Moody was taken into custody without incident after barricading himself inside the house and ignoring police on the scene.

Moody is charged with menacing, assault, strangulation, aggravated contempt of court, grand larceny, false imprisonment, illegal possession of a firearm and aggravated family crime.

Moody was taken to the Wayne County Jail where he was held pending CAP arraignment. The Wayne County District Attorney's Office recommended no bail.
