Colorado man allegedly killed wife

DENVER (KKTV) – One day after a man called for help claiming his wife was suffering from a health problem, Denver police have arrested him – on a charge of first-degree murder.

According to police, suspect Brian Mervin stopped a passerby on Monday evening who told him his wife was having trouble breathing and asked him to call 911. Police and paramedics arrived at the scene and took the woman to the hospital, where she later died.

But Denver police said emergency responders noticed some warning signs while caring for the woman.

“First responders observed signs of multiple injuries to the deceased and investigators began treating the incident as a homicide investigation,” police said.

After further investigation, investigators concluded that the woman had been attacked.

“Based on the information and evidence received, Mervin was arrested,” police said.

Mervin is now charged with premeditated murder.
