Police investigate fatal crash in Clinton Township – Macomb Daily

Clinton Township police are investigating a fatal car crash that occurred early Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred at 4:32 a.m. on Metro Parkway eastbound at Gratiot Avenue northbound. A 42-year-old woman was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead.

Preliminary investigations indicate she was crossing Metro Parkway in the crosswalk when she was struck by a Kia Sportage traveling eastbound in the left lane. The driver remained on scene and cooperated with police. Alcohol and drug abuse are not suspected, authorities said in a news release.
