UFC 309 fight card adds Karine Silva vs. Viviane Arajuo

A women's flyweight bout with top-10 implications is scheduled for Madison Square Garden.

Karine Silva and Viviane Araujo will face each other on November 16 at UFC 309 in New York.

Two people with knowledge of the duel recently informed MMA Junkie about the duel, but asked for anonymity as there has not yet been an official announcement from the promotion.

Silva (18-4 MMA, 4-0 UFC) has shot up the UFC women's flyweight rankings since her debut in 2022. So far, she has earned victories over Poliana Botelho, Ketlen Souza, Maryna Moroz and most recently Ariane Lipski.

Araujo (12-6 MMA, 6-5 UFC) has established himself as a top-ranked fighter in the promotion as she looks to rebound from her unanimous decision loss to Natalia Silva in February, his third in four fights.

The UFC 309 program now includes:

• Eryk Anders vs Chris Weidman
• Viviane Araujo vs Karine Silva
