Famous LA chef brings Caribbean flavors to Healdsburg

Rashida Holmes, the James Beard Award-nominated chef behind one of Los Angeles' most highly anticipated restaurant openings of 2024, is coming to Wine Country.

Just weeks after opening her Caribbean-inspired Bridgetown Roti in East Hollywood, Holmes will be at J Vineyards from August 29 to September 1 for a new season of the culinary series “Shifting the Lens.”

The program puts the spotlight on chefs whose cuisine has not previously been part of the fine art of food and wine pairing. This edition of Shifting the Lens takes place in J's Bubble Room and features a five-course menu inspired by Holmes' Afro-Caribbean roots. Each course is served with carefully selected J wines.

Reservations for the day experience are available Thursday through Friday at noon and 3 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday at noon. Dinner and dialogue sessions at 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday include a pre-dinner wine reception with appetizers and time to chat with Chef Holmes and J-Winemaker Nicole Hitchcock.
