Police: College advisor allegedly seduced child

OXFORD, Mississippi (WMC) – Oxford police have arrested and charged a man accused of seducing a child.

On August 20, the OPD received a tip from a citizen about a possible crime.

After receiving this information, officials began investigating the complaint.

After further investigation, officers arrested 37-year-old Michael Anthony Smith for enticement of a child.

He was arrested and bail will be set at a later date.

Smith was a consultant to the University of Mississippi; the investigation is ongoing.
