Safety Rayshawn Jenkins leaves Seahawks training on Wednesday due to injury

There was some potentially disturbing news from the Seattle Seahawks' practice on Wednesday.

Free agent Rayshawn Jenkins left practice early due to what Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times described as a “leg/foot injury.”

Jenkins was injured on a play when he turned to block a Geno Smith pass to the sideline. After being treated, Jenkins left the field with the help of his trainers and did not return. The Seahawks were not in full gear and the practice was physical.

Head coach Mike Macdonald was unavailable for media contact, but he is scheduled to speak on Thursday. We'll know more about Jenkins' injury (and hopefully everyone else's) by then.

With Quandre Diggs and Jamal Adams both released and now playing for the Tennessee Titans, the Seahawks decided to revamp their starting safety group by signing Jenkins from the Jacksonville Jaguars to play alongside Julian Love.

K'Von Wallace, another free agent addition, took over Wallace's role in the starting defense for the remainder of practice.

On a positive note, defensive player Mike Morris is back in training after missing Tuesday's session due to a leg injury.
