Father shot in Pompano Beach home by daughter's boyfriend, family says – NBC 6 South Florida

A family is seeking justice after they say a father was shot and killed outside his Pompano Beach home on Monday.

The shooting occurred shortly after 4:45 p.m. in front of the three children of 44-year-old Keith Poole.

“To be killed in front of his three children is just tragic,” said Barbara Santiago, godmother of one of Poole's daughters.

The Broward Sheriff's Office said they received a call about a shooting in the 1500 block of Northeast 28th Street. When they arrived, they found Poole shot multiple times.

The family said the shooting was committed by Poole's daughter's boyfriend, who had lived with the family for months.

“Keith found out there was a gun in the house. He didn't approve and asked to leave his house,” Santiago said. “A moment later, he shot him.”

Santiago said all three daughters witnessed the shooting and the boyfriend ran away, taking his girlfriend with him.

“I couldn't imagine what she was feeling at that time, fear, she was walking with a bra, shorts, no shoes, no phone,” Santiago said.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Broward Sheriff's Office confirmed that the daughter had returned home safely.

Santiago told NBC6 that the boyfriend is still on the run, but BSO would not confirm at this time if they have a suspect or person. No arrests have been made.
