Tragic school bus accident in Durbuk leaves six dead and 19 injured

Leh, August 22: In a tragic incident, a school bus of Lamdon School met with an accident near Durbuk, leaving six people dead and 19 others injured. The Deputy Commissioner of Leh confirmed the news to the media. The injured have been admitted to Army Health Centres and CHC Tangtse.

The bus was carrying about 25 passengers, including two children and several employees, and was on its way to Durbuk to attend the wedding of an employee when it plunged into a deep ravine near Durbuk.

The government deployed three helicopters to transport the injured to the district hospital in Leh. Rescue operations were swiftly launched by the Indian Army, Ladakh Police, Revenue Department officials and local residents, who worked together to shift the injured to medical facilities.
