Beyoncé threatens Trump with legal action over use of song “Freedom”

Beyoncé has threatened Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump with a cease and desist order after he used one of her songs in a campaign video.

According to Rolling Stone magazine, a source close to Beyoncé revealed that the Trump campaign did not get permission to use the word “freedom” in a 13-second clip of the former president getting off a plane in Michigan. The clip was posted by campaign spokesman Steven Cheung.

The clip, posted on Tuesday (August 20), has since been deleted but remained online until the next day, despite Beyoncé's label issuing a cease and desist order.
