Livermore gang suspect arrested in shooting at occupied vehicle

Livermore police said they arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with a shooting at an occupied vehicle in July.

On July 17, police responded to a report of a shooting between a white Ford F-150 and a blue Honda Civic in the 600 block of Rincon Avenue.

Witnesses told police that the F-150 followed the Honda at Ora Street and Rincon Avenue. At the intersection, a passenger in the F-150 fired several shots at the Honda, at least one of which struck him. No one was injured.

Police identified 26-year-old Arturo Morales as the suspected driver of the suspect vehicle and said the shooting was related to gang violence.
Morales was arrested at his Livermore home on August 14. Officers also executed a search warrant in connection with the shooting and seized a 9mm handgun and ammunition.

Police said Wednesday that Morales was sentenced to prison on suspicion of shooting at an occupied vehicle, assault with a deadly weapon, being a felon in possession of a firearm, being a felon in possession of ammunition and allowing another person to fire from a vehicle.
