Short Ratings: Australia A: 212 all out in 65.5 overs (Georgia Voll 71; Minnu Mani 5/58, Priya Mishra 4/58) vs India A: 100/2 in 36 overs (Shweta Sehrawat 40 runs, Tejal Hasabnis 31 runs).

Spinners Minnu Mani and Priya Mishra shared nine wickets as India A bowled out Australia A for a paltry 212 to give themselves a massive advantage on the first day of the one-off, four-day women's “unofficial” Test here on Thursday.

Captain and off-spinner Minnu (5/58) and rookie leg-spinner Priya (4/58) sent the Australian batting line-up into a tailspin as they lost all 10 wickets to the visiting team's slow bowlers.

India A reached a strong 100 for two at stumps and are 112 runs behind.

The Australian batters struggled against the Indian spinners and this was a continuation of last week's third ODI when Priya gave them trouble with a five-wicket haul in Mackay.

Opener Georgia Voll (71, 95 balls, 12×4) played fluently during her stay but fell victim to left-handed spinner Mannat Kashyap as the Australians slipped to 94 for four.

For the hosts to cross the 200-run mark, strong resistance from their late-order batters Maitlan Brown (30, 49b, 2×4) and Grace Parsons (35, 55b, 3×4) was necessary.

Highlights of the Indian Women’s A innings so far

India lost Priya Punia (7) very early in the innings and reached 13 for 1. Later, Shubha Satheesh also retired without contributing much.

At 47 for two, India needed a stabilising partnership and Shweta Sehrawat (40 batting, 109b, 3×4) provided it accompanied by Tejal Hasabnis (31 batting, 64b, 2×4).

The third wicket pair have scored 53 runs so far and will look to take India closer to Australia's total on day two.
