Marquette babysitter arrested after infant's death

MARQUETTE, Nebraska (KSNB) – A Marquette woman is in custody following the investigation into the death of a three-month-old child.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office arrested 20-year-old Tiffany Cure on charges of child abuse resulting in death following the death of Stormi Swartz, who was in Cure's care.

On August 6, the Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call about an unresponsive baby. She was transported to Aurora Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead after life-saving efforts failed.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said Cure was babysitting Swartz and another child at the time of the 911 call.

The Nebraska State Patrol assisted in the investigation.
