4th Night of the Democratic National Convention: Vice President Kamala Harris will present her arguments to Americans on the final night of the DNC

CHICAGO (KGO) — The fourth day of the Democratic National Convention is all about Vice President Kamala Harris. We expect a mix of personal history and politics.

There are only a few speakers from California; Senator Alex Padilla is the only big name from the Golden State on the program.

Regardless, everyone will jump on the Harris-Waltz train, hoping the next stop is the White House.

The stage is set for Kamala Harris' most important night of her political life. California delegates are streaming in to get a front-row seat to witness her story.

“I have waited so many years for this moment”

Harini Krishnen is a California delegate, a friend of the vice president and an organizer of South Asians for Harris. She said representing her friend on that stage means everything to her.

“It means feeling seen, it means feeling heard, it means feeling valued. It means we belong,” Krishnen said.

The campaign tells ABC News that the vice president's speech will focus on her record, the contrast between her and former President Trump's vision for the country and her optimism for the future – a sentiment shared by her longtime friend and outgoing Oakland congresswoman Barbara Lee.

“If we do our job well, the election of Vice President Harris will be a confirmation that the arc of the universe is long but bends toward justice,” said Rep. Lee.

So far, the DNC has placed a lot of emphasis on personalities and star power; the Clintons, the Obamas and even Oprah have campaigned for Harris.

Oprah: “I call on all undecided voters and all independents.”

Inside the United Center, there is a United Forces front behind the Harris-Walz ticket. Outside, dozens of unaffiliated delegates have held a protest rally overnight. They are disappointed, they say, that the DNC has not allowed any Palestinian speakers to speak at the convention.

Before Kamala Harris takes the stage, she is introduced by her closest advisor and self-proclaimed best friend: her sister Maya.

When Vice President Harris takes the stage on Thursday night, holding the torch inherited from President Biden in one hand and a chisel in the other, she will break another glass ceiling: She will be the first woman of color to accept her party's nomination.
