Extension: Kamala Harris makes her case on 4th day of Democratic caucus; NYC court case aims to change pet law

NEW YORK — In this edition of Extra Time, we preview the final night of the Democratic National Convention and take a closer look at a New York City court case that seeks to change the state's view of pets.

And after a brief taste of fall, summer warmth will gradually return Friday before wetter weather arrives over the weekend. Meteorologist Brittany Bell has the latest AccuWeather forecast.

Three days of celebrations at the Democratic Party Convention in Chicago, and the Democrats are still waiting for the decision on their new candidate, Kamala Harris.

Harris will deliver one of the most consequential speeches of her career on Thursday, so what will the vice president say when she reintroduces herself to the American public? How will she convince the country that she is the right choice to lead the country for the next four years?

ABC's Christiane Cordero joins us live from Chicago to report on further news ahead of the final night of the DNC.

Lawsuit seeks to change New York's pet law after dog killed in Brooklyn

For many people, a dog is more than just a pet – it is part of the family.

But under New York state law, dogs are considered property. A case currently before the courts seeks to change the law after a four-year-old dachshund was hit and killed while out for a walk in Brooklyn. The dog's owners are suing the driver, arguing that their pet was not personal property, but a beloved family member.

Liza Colón-Zayas from “The Bear” talks about her life and career

The Puerto Rican community is proud to call actress Liza Colón-Zayas one of their own.

Recently receiving an Emmy nomination for her role as Tina in the Hulu hit The Bear, Colón-Zayas has come a long way since graduating from SUNY Albany with a bachelor's degree in theater.

Entertainment reporter Joelle Garguillo met with the Colón-Zayas at Counter and Bodega, one of the actress' favorite Puerto Rican restaurants in the city, to talk about growing up in the Bronx and representation for women of color.
