Suspected neo-Nazi murder found dead in Fairfax County jail cell

The police say they do not believe that the incident was the fault of anyone else.

According to Fairfax County Police, Giampa has been in the custody of the Fairfax County Sheriff's Office since January 19, 2018.

7News learned that Giampa was 17 when he was arrested in December 2017 and charged with murdering his girlfriend's parents – Scott Fricker, 48, and Buckley Kuhn-Fricker, 43 – in their Herndon, Virginia, home. The trial had been delayed for years and was most recently postponed after incriminating testimony from him was thrown out by a judge, according to the Associated Press. A spokeswoman for Fairfax County District Attorney Steve Descano said prosecutors have appealed the judge's ruling to the state Court of Criminal Appeals.

Giampa's case caught the attention of many because evidence linked him to neo-Nazi views. AP reported that neighbors told them Giampa had mowed down a giant swastika in a public square. Family members also said the murders of Scott and Buckley occurred after they tried to stop their daughter from dating Giampa.

Fairfax County police are investigating Giampa's death.
