Detroit doctor allegedly touched himself in front of an elderly woman

A troubled Detroit doctor is accused of touching himself in front of an elderly woman who rejected his sexual advances after he drove her home from a hair appointment.

Stephen Bruce Mason, 54, befriended the 76-year-old victim online and was driving her home from her Aug. 1 appointment when the disgusting behavior occurred, the Macomb County prosecutor said.

After the woman dropped the doctor off, he invited him to her Sterling Heights home, but the obnoxious guy took advantage of her offer and made sexual advances to the 70-year-old woman, which she quickly rebuffed, prosecutors said.

After her rejections, Mason is said to have masturbated in front of the 70-year-old.

He was later arrested and charged with assault and causing a public nuisance.

“Our legal system does not discriminate based on profession or social status. Whether you are a doctor or any other member of society, the law applies equally to everyone,” Macomb County Attorney Peter Lucido said in a statement.

“We are committed to an impartial justice system and to ensuring that every individual is held accountable for their actions.”

According to a news report on Thursday, Mason has had multiple run-ins with the law in several US states, including for sexual misconduct.

His medical license in his home state of Indiana was revoked after a 2005 investigation by the state medical board found that he had sexual contact with a patient, solicited and inappropriately touched his employees, and regularly drank alcohol while seeing patients in his primary care practice, ClickOnDetriot reported.

According to the local broadcaster, he was also accused of selling prescription drugs.

Two years later, he moved to Wisconsin and practiced medicine under a restricted license that required him to undergo a sex addiction treatment program and regular drug and alcohol testing.

In 2011, he moved to Michigan, where he was employed by Lake MI Mobile Doctors USA and made home visits, the local station reported.

But he and two other doctors were investigated in connection with a $1.7 million fraud scheme run by the FBI and the Michigan Department of Health. The doctors billed Medicare for house calls they never made or for unnecessary visits.

Mason pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit health care fraud and was sentenced to 18 months in prison and a $50,000 fine by the Michigan State Medical Board in 2017, ClickOnDetriot reports.

After his release from prison, Mason started a new medical company called Expert Opinion, LLC. with a Facebook page where he offered health consultations from “Dr. Steven,” with no last name, the outlet reported.
