Middle school teacher arrested in Los Banos; faces child pornography charges

LOS BANOS, Calif. (FOX26) — A Los Banos Junior High School teacher was arrested Thursday for possession of child pornography, police said.

According to LBPD, 29-year-old Christian Banuelos was arrested off campus.

The LBPD, in conjunction with the Fresno County Sheriff's Office, took Banuelos into custody after an investigation revealed he was in possession of child pornography and was suspected of distributing it.

The department said the case was still under investigation.

The LBPD says it is not aware of any victims in the area and asks anyone with information to call Detective Ricardo Monay at (209) 827-2523.

Banuelos is currently in the custody of the Los Banos Police Department.

Banuelos has also been placed on leave until further notice and Los Banos Unified is in the process of finding a substitute teacher.
